Common Name: Grand Comoro Flycatcher
Scientific Name: Humblotia flavirostris

Distribution: Found exclusively on the slopes of Mount Karthala, on the island of Grand Comoro in the Comoros Archipelago.

Biology: The Grand Comoro Flycatcher is a endemic species of the Comoros, and the monotypic representative of the genus Humblotia. It inhabits highland forest and can be observed exhibiting typical flycatcher behaviour, flying around from branch to branch in pairs or small groups, as it hunts insects in the low canopy.

IUCN Conservation Status: Endangered
The Grand Comoro Flycatcher has a tiny distribution and its habitat is situated on the slopes of an active volcano, on an island where habitat degradation has accelerated over the last decades. No conservation efforts are currently being carried out to help conserve the species, or for tha matter any oof the other endemic species of Grand Comoro, and the future of this species is therefore uncertain.
